Phil Wood, CEO of John R. Wood Properties, has announced that the firm completed the merger of its long-time Sanibel franchisee, which operates under the name of John R. Wood Island Real Estate.
The merger will add a solid base of real estate sales in Lee County from Sanibel to Cape Coral, increasing visibility and number one market share at a faster pace.
John R. Wood Island Real Estate was founded by Broker Jay Richter and entrepreneur Joe Mondelli as a brand that can make a difference with agents and customers by providing John R. Wood’s signature “Legendary Service.” After opening in the height of the Recession, January 1, 2007, the company has grown to 55 agents.
They serve all of Sanibel and Captiva as well as Fort Myers and Cape Coral. The firm has consistently gained market share in every year of operation and now has a sales volume of over 200 million. John R. Wood Island Real Estate holds the highest recorded residential sale price on Sanibel and Captiva.
Jay Richter, 24-year SW Florida Broker, has agreed to manage the Fort Myers and Sanibel offices. “He has run local and national companies to milestone productivities, and we are excited to tap his expertise on our management team,” said Phil Wood.
The Wood firm already has the #1 market share in south Lee county, where they focus on the Bonita Springs and Estero area.
“Island Real Estate agents have been successful in many of the neighborhoods on and off island and have earned an excellent reputation as being informed, honest, and hard working. We are delighted to have them move fully under our umbrella,” says Dottie Babcock, John R. Wood COO. “They have been a great addition to our Southwest Florida operations and will now help our organization continue to increase its foothold in Lee County”.
“We are excited to join forces with Florida’s leader in productivity per sales agent! We have had a great relationship over the years. Now it’s time to work together and provide more to our agents and customers. I am thrilled to have our combined energy and expertise to help take this company to the next level!” says Jay Richter, Managing Broker.
Founded in 1958, John R. Wood Properties is Southwest Florida’s oldest major real estate firm representing over 4,000 clients annually through its 14 offices from Marco to Sanibel and Captiva. The company’s 550 agents sell more real estate than any other residential broker in Southwest Florida’s two-county area. They are routinely ranked as one of the highest sales per agent companies in the nation according to Real Trends.
